In this afternoon workshop at the Richmond Free Library, we will be working with wild plant fibers such as milkweed, dogbane, and stinging nettle to create beautiful handmade paper that can be used in a myriad of ways. We will also experiment with a variety of decorative techniques involving flowers, herbs, images, and textiles. Western-style papermaking has been practiced for nearly a millennium and is easy for folks of all ages to learn and incorporate into their creative endeavors.
