Now that our fibers are processed and ready to go, we will gather in the garden to make a big batch of plant paper! The pulp will be made from garden-grown flax, milkweed, nettle, oatstraw, hosta, lily, and sunflower stems, along with flowers and small leaves for decoration. We’ll go through the sheet-forming process step by step, following Western-style papermaking principles, and talk about various techniques for drying and finishing handmade paper.
Participants can pick up their paper when it is dry, about a week after the workshop, and are encouraged to join us for the bookbinding workshop on 10/14 to use some of their handmade paper in making a beautiful journal!
Free and open to the public, no sign-up required.
